I came across CTEC during a tough time, I wasn’t doing well in school and didn’t have much motivation. My case carrier at Claremont High told me about the Welding Pathway, and that conversation changed everything for me. I learned how to disassemble a welding machine, use tools safely, and problem-solve on the spot. I also learned to take initiative, rely on myself, and take pride in doing things right the first time. I learned a lot more than just how to build something; I learned not to give up. This program helped me realize I can set goals and reach them...and gave me something to care about.

It’s been great so far. This is a really exciting career where every day brings something new, tasks that reflect the real-world power delivery industry. If you’re not strong enough mentally or physically, you’ll get there. This career builds you up. It takes time, motivation, and sacrifice to wake up every day and keep chasing your goals. I’ve made a lot of great friends; we all look out for each other. That’s part of what makes this experience so rewarding.
